The government have paid a grant that covers the cost of book lists for every primary school in Ireland. We have found this grant stretched to cover the costs of copies, glue sticks, pencils, rulers, etc this year and hope we can do the same for 24/25. This means all your child needs on their first day of school is their school bag and lunch.
However, we have requested that parents make a voluntary contribution for the extra costs outside of books and stationary. We have a school show every year that involves us hiring a drama teacher for several months. We also really enjoy our arts and crafts at the school and do find these supplies can cost more that the government grant provides. The voluntary contribution does help cover the extras that make your child’s school experience better and allows us to have programmes like Accelerated Reader, purchase hurling and sports day equipment, and update software on chromebooks. These are just examples of where your voluntary contribution goes.
- €65 for 1 child
- €120 for 2 children
- €170 for 3 children
