Our school has a long tradition of performing. Each year our Drama teacher holds auditions, assigns roles and practises with us weekly for our school show. While 6th class generally gets the main parts, our chorus from 5th, 4th and 3rd class, really stood out with ‘Revolting children’. The set was designed and created by pupils and staff. and built by transition year student volunteers from the Assumption Secondary School. Costumes were the children’s own uniforms, while make-up was decided by the children and all their own design. Our Drama teacher, Amy, sourced all sound equipment and ensured the show had the feel of a professional production. Our nighttime show sold out within a day of tickets going on sale, while the matinee saw Drimnagh Castle students invited to enjoy their old classmates from their time at the Assumption Junior School on stage.
The children were fantastic on stage. The show allowed them to showcase talents, build friendships across the school and have fun after standardised testing week.
Keep an eye on school newsletters and our Twitter page for an announcement in January 2024 about next year’s show!
